Letter from the Editors
Dear Reader,
Welcome to our last issue of the year! We're excited to bring you a wide variety of stories, including a holiday bonus. This quarter's offerings include both familiar and new authors. We loved the strong voice and imagination of every tale and hope that you do too.
First up, "The Tasting" by D. A. D'Amico. What do you give the alien who has everything? You'll find the answer in this short and sweet tale. Pun intended!
In "Willa's Gambit" by L. J. Lacey, dragon lore takes on a unique twist when Willa must confront the dragons and her past to gain the knowledge she needs.
Unique twists continue in "A Perfect Day for Monkeyfish" by Richie Narvaez. A madcap adventure into a take on a tale you think you know but don't.
Claire Schultz provides our entry in the horror genre, with "The Exorcism of Lily Quinn". The road the Hell is, indeed, paved with good intentions.
Our last main entry this quarter is from Calie Voorhis. In "The Universal Rule of Doors" you’ll find that even the future can't solve old-school problems --demon-level old-school.
Our bonus holiday story may seem on the surface to point to that uniquely American holiday, Thanksgiving. But the truth is, family holiday dinners of any kind are treacherous in every time and place --even space --as Michael Merriam proves with "The Most Wonderful Time".
Finally, we offer our great appreciation to cover artist for this issue: Luke Starkweather with "The Geistwyrm of Bell Keep."
As always, thanks for reading. We hope you enjoy this issue!
